Seabrook House, an inpatient treatment center, has announced plans to expand its patient care programs this year.
The center's vision is to make recovery possible for every family that needs it and to educate the public at large in an effort to reduce the stigma associated with addiction.
First, the center will open Seabrook East, a 90-day, extended care program for women.
Located a mile from Seabrook House's main campus in Seabrook, this facility will house six women.
This self-pay program will cost $7,066 a month, which includes a year of monitoring through Seabrook House's Recovery Enhancement Program, and will be available to women who previously received 30 days of inpatient treatment at a detoxification and rehabilitation center.
The program provides a minimum 90-day rehabilitation program, three-phase step-down for independent living and immersion into the 12-step recovery process.
The women will establish a sober support system in the community by attending local self-help meetings and obtaining a temporary sponsor.
They will have access to 12 hours of clinical group sessions, individual counseling, family therapy, equine therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and yoga.
This program will follow the model of Seabrook West, the center's 90-day, extended care program for men.
Also, Seabrook House will expand its evaluation program from three to five days.
During this program, the patient will receive various tests and undergo assessments and treatment to diagnose the severity and degrees of their addiction and any other underlying issues.
The cost of the program is $4,800; most insurance is accepted for this program.
Finally, the center recognizes its alumni as an important contributor to its success.
It will open its doors to all alumni from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the last Sunday of every month.
The day will start with a small group session where alumni are invited to share their personal stories of recovery and answer questions asked by current patients.
Following the group session, alumni will interact with the patients on a more casual level as they join them for lunch.
Finally, the day will close with a large NA/AA meeting in the Counseling Center Lecture Hall.
